This post is for anyone that avoids the dentist due to fear of pain or generally phobic of the whole thing. I found their office by searching for sedation dentistry, which I previously thought was reserved for cosmetic dentistry or wealthy folk. I stumbled on their website, and was prompted to chat online, yeah right. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, and to my amazement, a person from their office actually texted me. These days talking to somewhere that’s even in the country is surprising. She basically said, come in for 15-20 minutes, check it out, what’s the worst that could happen, and am glad I did. You notice right away, the place is pleasant. The lovely ladies up front, almost in a harmonized a cappella, greeted me when I walked in the door Nice decor, refreshments, the whole nine. A very nice women took x-rays, pictures, and then I met Dr. Reilly. This guy is the real deal, and knows how to talk to people. He explained to me what I needed done in such a way that there was no way to get nervous. He could have told me that I needed a head transplant, and I would have been cool with it. He explained to me the many options available to eliminate anxiety and pain during any visit. Fast forward a couple weeks later, I arrive for my appointment, naturally a little nervous. I meet Dawn for a deep cleaning. Immediately, I am asked what I want to watch on the TV mounted above my head, I am draped with a soft blanket, and she puts on a super comfy neck pillow. It was almost confusing, how nice it was. I opted for some nitrous, but half way through, I took it off, as honestly it wasn’t necessary. She moved through my mouth with precision, and I swear I don’t recall discomfort, let alone pain, and deep cleanings are supposed to suck. I honestly asked her when the bad part is coming, she responded “we are just wrapping up”. Dawn, seriously thank you. Dr.Reilly then comes in for the procedure. I always recalled Novocaine shots being painful, I’m not kidding when I say, I could have slept through those shots. He moved through the procedure like it was nothing. Him and his assistant were so in sync that there was no need to even ask for tools, it just happened. He chatted as best we could with my mouth full of tools, really cool guy, with awesome interests. And then, before I knew it, it was over.
This office has totally figured out how to remove every element of stress, pain, or phobia from dental procedures. For me it’s a blessing because, now I can regularly go to a dentist like I should. There is nothing worse than procrastinating dental work and winding up with serious issues, and it doesn’t have to be that way. There is no reason for people to sit in pain or discomfort at the dentist, and Advanced Dentistry obviously has figured that out. Everyone in that office is a power house, and trust them when they tell you “you won’t feel a thing”. Thanks again, seriously thank you
As always, thank you!
